How does a Pre-Approval Work? What does it mean to get pre-approved?
Getting pre-approved for a mortgage means that a mortgage professional has done a verification process with you to see what you would qualify for on your mortgage to ensure you’re shopping in the right price range for a home.
It will give you an idea for the dollar amount (purchase price) and the payment you can expect. I can lock in your interest rate typically for 60-120 days but have access to products to lock it in even further ahead for a pre-construction type purchase where your home isn’t set to complete for up to a year.
